Axipal Tubeaxial Fan, Direct Drive

Designed for clean-air applications, the ATA adjustable-pitch tubeaxial fan places the motor in the airstream for compact, efficient operation. Its advanced blade profile maximizes energy transfer while minimizing noise. With the fan stopped, each blade’s pitch can be adjusted individually—so you can fine-tune system performance now and retain the flexibility to adjust as conditions change.

Design Innovation

Model ATA fan blades are engineered with an airfoil chord that increases from root to tip. By adding that extra chord at the leading edge—not the trailing edge—the blade’s widest section sits at the zone of maximum rotational speed near the fan casing when the blades are pitched. This extra-wide tip area delivers superior energy transfer to the airstream while keeping noise low. For precise tuning, each blade’s pitch can be adjusted individually by hand when the fan is stopped, allowing you to balance the system today and keep flexibility for future adjustments.

Impeller Construction

The blades are permanent-mold aluminum alloy castings, engineered for high strength and precise geometry. Retaining bolts secure each blade root in a spherical seat formed between two stamped carbon-steel hub plates. The hub’s center boss is cast iron—straight-bored and keyed for direct mounting to motor or fan shafts; on 24-inch and larger fans, it is fitted with a Taper-Lockbushing.

Swingout Construction

Our swing-out construction makes cleaning and maintenance fast and easy—no need to remove the fan from the duct. Release the quick-open clamp latches and the door swings out on heavy-duty hinges, giving you outside-the-airstream access to the impeller for cleaning. For additional service access, a split inner cylinder lets you reach the shaft and bearings.

Clamshell Construction

Clamshell construction is ideal for applications that require routine cleaning. Sizes 035-090 include one door; sizes 100-125 include two. Each door is secured with quick-access latches and swings outward to provide clear access to internal fan components. Always follow proper safety procedures during cleaning.
